HOW TO REACH SONAR BANGLA SUNDARBAN FROM KOLKATA ?
There are many ways to come to this world-class destination, But when you book your package with us the pick and drop up will be placed from your desired location in Kolkata like your home, science city, hotel, Bus stand, Priya city and Airport. Yet, the mode of your travel [ air, water, rail, road ] is necessary to learn whether you tour with us or not. So, let’s know the details→
By Airway: From the nearest airport in Kolkata like Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose airport, you can start your hotel Sonar Bangla Sundarban package tour and you can land at the closest kolkata airport around 114 km from Sundarban in which we will make sure to provide a full pick up and drop facility. Based on your family or group size we’ll arrange Sonar bangla coaches and tempo travellers to make you feel comfortable.
By Railway: Sundarbans has a well-connected railroad, so there are many ways to reach Sundarbans via railways from Kolkata through stations like Sealdah, Canning, and Howrah. From all of this Canning will be the closest station to Sundarbans as it takes only 1:30 hours to reach and in this station, you can get the trains to Sundarbans every 1-hour interval. All trains have EMU coaches from 9 to 12 bogies. Unfortunately, you’ll not get any express train to Sundarbans. Important Fact: If you want to avoid crowds we prefer you to go with an early morning train and while travelling with us we’ll also arrange a morning train which is frequently booked by other travel agencies as well.
By Roadway: Visiting Sunderbans by roadway will enrich you with a pleasant long drive with many panoramic picturesque views. Though you can’t complete your full journey by road as you need to have both road and waterways for your Sundarban tour with hotel Sonar Bangla. There are two main ways to visit Sundarban via road, one, the Basanti State expressway and another Baruipur-canning highway. In terms of your safety and comfort, the Basanti expressway will be the best to pick. You need to travel to Godkhali, the Famous Ferry Ghat to reach Sundarbans which will take 2.5 hours and you can park your car here with a parking facility of Rs.100 per day. On the way to your journey, you can have some tea or snacks by the roadside.
[If you choose to travel with us we’ll provide you with premium vehicles and fun rides.]

Background & Location
Sundarban is the largest deltaic region of the world and encompasses over hundreds of islands (105), with a maze of innumerable rivers, rivulets, and creeks. The name ‘Sundarban’ means “beautiful forest” and it is believed to be derived from a mangrove tree species ‘Sundari’ (Heritiera fomes). The Indian Sundarban is the southernmost part of the estuarine delta formed by the River Ganges and Brahmaputra, bordering the Bay of Bengal. It is located little south of the Tropic of Cancer between the latitudes 21’51’ and 22’31’N, and longitudes 88’10’ and 89’51’E,
mainly in the coastal districts of West Bengal, i.e. South 24-Parganas and North 24-Parganas (Arbesi Block only). The Dampier-Hodges line separates the Sundarbans from the rest of West Bengal. There are villages in the fringe area all along the northern boundary of the Tiger Reserve. On the eastern boundary lies Bangladesh separated by the rivers Kalindi, Raimangal, and Harinbhanga. On the western boundary lies the territorial division of 24-Parganas south and towards the south lays the Bay of Bengal.
